Welcome to Celebris Ensemble's third annual composition competition! The goal of this competition is to give emerging choral composers their opportunity to shine.
Details
There are no age, geographic, or background restrictions. All emerging composers are encouraged to apply.
Collaborations between two composers/writers is allowed. All parties must upload a signed document detailing consent for the submitted work.
Celebris reserves the right to give multiple awards or none depending on the quality of the submissions.
Celebris will perform the selection(s) in During the 2024-2025 season. Should COVID restrictions be in place, Celebris reserves the right to perform this virtually or at a later date.
The selected piece(s) will be performed in southwestern MI. Selected composer(s) will not be required to travel there. The ensemble cannot provide travel funds, but a letter of support can be provided if the applicant finds available funding through a college or different organization.
Guidelines
Submit a 2-5 minute SATB piece (either unaccompanied or piano accompaniment) suitable for a small ensemble. Maximum divisi is occasional SSAATTBB.
Compositions on the theme of JOY, BEAUTY, and DELIGHT will be given the most consideration (pdf only).
Text should be either in public domain or the evidence of the rights to use the text must be shown.
Unpublished works only. Self-published works are permitted.
A computer-generated recording of the piece is acceptable (mp3/wav).
